2012 NFL Super Bowl Preview

NFL Super Bowl Preview: How The Giants can Beat the Patriots

The Super Bowl betting is picking up speed as the big game approaches. The New England Patriots are currently -2 ½ in the odds, but that does not necessarily mean that the Patriots have this Super Bowl victory locked up. The last time these two teams met in a Super Bowl was in 2008 at Super Bowl XLII. The price per head sports experts remember that the Patriots were 18-0 heading into that game and heavy favorites to beat New York and be the first team to ever finish a season 19-0. But a combination of several factors helped to keep the Giants in the game and, eventually, New York would prevail.

The Giants have just as much chance of winning Super Bowl XLVI as it did to win Super Bowl XLII. The bookie software has dropped the odds a full point in the last few days based on people betting heavily on the Giants. Lets take a look at why so many people are picking the Giants to upset the Patriots again in the Super Bowl.

Offense
The Giants’ offense was having problems around mid-season and it looked like the Giants may fall out of a playoff spot for the third year in a row. The main problem for the Giants was the lack of a running game. But quarterback Eli Manning continued to perform well and protect the ball from being turned over. In the two previous years, Manning had developed a bad habit of fumbling the ball or throwing an interception at the wrong times. This season, Manning has been extremely efficient with the football and broke the NFL regular season record for most touchdowns passes in the fourth quarter. A betonline.com review of the New York offense so far in the playoffs shows that the running game is making a comeback and Eli is still as efficient as ever. When the struggles of the New England defense are taken into account, it looks like the Giants have a chance to be very effective in this game.

Defense
The way that a defense can beat the New England Patriots is to get pressure on Tom Brady, have linebackers that can cover the underneath pass and bring up the safeties to cover the two New England tight ends. With New England tight end Rob Gronkowski injured, that makes covering the tight ends a little easier.

The NFL scores that the Patriots have been able to post so far this season have been against defenses that do not have the ability to play the multi-faceted game that the Giants can play. To this point in the playoffs, the Patriots have not played a defense like the one the Giants have. The one time that New England did play the Giants in the 2011 regular season, the Giants defense was very effective against the Patriots’ offense and New York won the game. The Patriots can expect a much better New York defense in this Super Bowl and that could be big problems for the Patriots.

Tony Sparano Fired Dolphins head coach

The Dolphins fired their head coach so the over under on what week he was to be fired came in at Week 14 if you wait till Monday nights finale. That means Coopers Pick correctly called the proposition bet of when Dolphins Coach Tony Sparano, would be laid off. Thus making our clients even more money!

An NFL League employee also spoke with Coopers Pick and told us that Michael Lombardi & Todd Bowles will be filling in as interim coaches for the remainder of the season.

This comes on the heels of a dismal season and an embarassing home field loss yesterday to the Philiadelphia Eagles.

Chicago Bears Denver Broncos Pick Week 14

Denver Broncos vs. Chicago Bears Picks against the spread

NFL Football Point Spread: Broncos -3.5 O/U 35.5

Things just keep getting better for the Bears (7-5), as they have not only lost 2 in a row and lost starting QB Jay Cutler for the remainder of the regular season, but will be without their main offensive weapon in RB Matt Forte, who has a sprained knee and will be out at least 2 weeks. On the other side of the coin the Broncos (7-5) have been on fire winners of 5 straight and they are now tied atop the AFC West with the Oakland Raiders. Tim Tebow has been playing great and in their last win he even passed for over 200 yards. Chicago may have to rely on their defense to win this game since Forte is out and backup QB Caleb Hanie has 6 INT in his last 2 games.

In their last games the Bears lost a 10-3 barnburner to the Kansas City Chiefs while the Broncos had another comeback in their 35-32 win over the Minnesota Vikings.

This season the Bears are 6-6 ATS and have an O/U record of 7-5 and the Broncos are 7-5 ATS and they also have an O/U record of 7-5.

Tebow passed for 202 yards with 2 TD and 0 INT last week in the win over the Vikings and WR Eric Decker (39 rec 552 yards 8 TD) is his main target. Tebow may have another good passing game since the Bears’ pass defense only ranks 28th in the league.
RB Willis McGahee has had a resurgence in Denver and he has 886 rushing yards and is averaging a legit 4.9 yards per carry. He and Tebow are the 2 leading rushers for the Broncos and will be facing the strength of the Chicago D, which is their run defense that ranks 8th in the league.
With Forte out Marion Barber will get most of the carries, but he struggled last week only averaging 3.1 yards per carry. Forte’s loss is a big one, as he has nearly 1,000 rushing yards and is Chicago’s 2nd leading receiver. The Denver run defense only ranks 23rd in the league.
Caleb Hanie has really struggled since taking over for Cutler with 3 INT in each of his last 2 games. Johnny Knox and Devin Hester are solid WR’s and Hanie may have a good game facing the 20th ranked pass defense of the Broncos that gave up 360 passing yards last week against Minnesota. However, he has to stay away from the turnover and the Bears’ offensive line must play well, especially keeping rookie Von Miller, who ranks 5th in the league with 10.5 sacks, out of the backfield.
The Denver special team’s D must play well and not allow kick return stud Devin Hester from making the big play on kick returns.
In some other betting trends for this game the Bears are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games, 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games as an underdog, and has an Over record of 4-1 in their last 5 games.
The Broncos are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games, 1-4 ATS in their last 5 home games against teams with a winning road record, and has an Over record of 5-1 in their last 6 home games.

Philadelphia Eagles New York Giants NFL Week 11 Picks

NFL Week 11 Preview: Philadelphia Eagles @ New York Giants (-3)

Online Sportsbook Overview
The Philadelphia Eagles looked to be turning a bad season around when it won two games in a row in weeks six and eight. To make things look even more promising, both of those wins were over divisional teams. Then the Eagles lost a close game to the Chicago Bears in week nine and Eagles’ fans started to worry. The general consensus was that the Eagles would beat the Arizona Cardinals in week 10 and put itself in a good position to make the week 11 matchup with the Giants meaningful. But a week 10 loss to the Arizona Cardinals seems to have taken a lot of the air out of the Eagles’ playoff sails. Now the week 11 game with the Giants is for survival and the Eagles need to win. Get the best in NFL Picks from the top service in the world call 1-888-730-2667 and see what its like to win BIG with our help with top ATS picks for week 11.

The New York Giants helped the price per head sports fans in Philadelphia have some hope when the Giants lost to the San Francisco 49ers in week 10. But the Giants losing to the 49ers is not nearly as deflating as the Eagles losing to the Cardinals. But the Giants need to start stringing some wins together to fend off the charging Dallas Cowboys. The Giants hold a one-game lead over the Cowboys in the NFC East, and the Giants need this win over the Eagles to make things even more difficult on the Cowboys. The Giants match up well against the Eagles, and New York needs to rebound from a tough week 10 loss to maintain its hold on the NFC East.

Philadelphia Eagles
The price per head Eagles fans are still wondering what happened to Philadelphia in week 10. It could be that back-up quarterback John Skelton took the Eagles’ defense by surprise which allowed Skelton to throw three touchdown passes against the Eagles. But Michael Vick did not help the Eagles’ cause by making bad decisions in the passing game and taking a beating when he decided to run the ball. The Arizona game showed how bad the Eagles can play when nothing is going right. The Philadelphia defense looked out of position most of the game and completely surprised by the fact that the Cardinals were throwing the ball to all-pro wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald. The Eagles will need to focus a lot more on playing mistake-free football if it wants to beat New York.

New York Giants
A bodog review of the New York Giants’ season shows how well the Giants can play when quarterback Eli Manning protects the football and reduces his turnovers. Manning proved that point by throwing two key interceptions in the Giants’ week 10 loss to the San Francisco 49ers. But when Eli keeps the ball in the hands of the Giants’ offense, the Giants have been able to pull out the win. Judging by how poorly the Eagles’ defense played in week 10, there is a good chance that Eli will be able to bounce back in week 11 and give a stellar performance.

The Bottom Line
The NFL scores for Philadelphia Eagles’ games have been unpredictable this season. It is hard to ignore the possibility that turning a long-time offensive line coach into the defensive coordinator is hurting the Eagles. This game does not stack up well for the Eagles, and this could be one of the final nails in the Eagles’ playoff coffin for this season.

Public vs Sharks in Sports Betting

Week 6 Public vs. Sharks

Sportsbooks are always in the middle of a war trying to balance the lines and remove any edge a
bettor may have on a game. This week the sportsbooks will have two battles to deal with as big public
favourites Philadelphia Eagles and New Orleans Saints look to slide by their underrated opponents.

The Philadelphia Eagles will be playing in Washington to face Rex Grossman and the Redskins. The
redskins are 3-1 this year and are just coming off a Bye. The Redskins are 8 rushing in the NFL splitting
the workload between Tim Hightower, Roy Helu and Ryan Torain and their defence has been solid. The
Redskins although 3-1 are a highly underrated team and are flying under the radar. Washington has no
big playmakers and they have Rex Grossman at QB, how much credit can you give to a team like this?

Many thought the Eagles would have a good shot at making playoffs and potentially winning the super
Bowl but injures and holes in their defence have landed them looking from the outside in with a 1-4
record. That has not stopped the public to keep believing in a troubled team to turn the corner and put
together a winning streak.

New Orleans will try to win the public money this weekend against the troubled Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The Bucs got lit up last week against the 49ers 48-3. So why not take the Saints who we all know can put
up the points quick.

The funny thing with both these games is the public favourites are being bet on about 9 out of ten
bets but the spread has not changed. The Eagles opened at 1.5 point road favourites, Depending on
the sportsbook this line has moved up all the way to 2.5 or moved down to an even 1. It seems we are
getting a mix of bets on this game with the public mostly taking the Eagles and the Sharks taking the
Redskins.

In the Saints Bucs game it is very similar. All of the money is on the Saints to win but we have only seen
a half point movement on the link. A few big bets have come in on the Bucs to keep this point spread
close.

It will be interesting to see where these lines end come game day but it is obvious to us that a few deep
pockets like the underdogs in these games.
